Lately the first Maltese financial dictionary has been published, namely The Dictionary for Financial Services. The dictionary is a collection of terminology used in the financial sector including banks, insurance companies, and the Malta Stock Exchange.
The dictionary, published by Midsea Books, is a new important linguistic tool for those working in the financial sector, students, media and others who use financial terminology and make reference to such terminology in this sector.
The author and researcher is Mr Carlo Farrugia. During a University course for translators and interpreters Mr Farrugia was usually the point of reference for financial terms whose technical meaning was unknown to the other students. With a 27 year background in financial services, Carlo Farrugia created this dictionary to fill this gap and at the same establish more consistency in translations.
The author spent more than a year workiing on this publication.
