The Times - 14 December 2006
A Dictionary of financial terms will be launched at the Malta Financial Services Authority, in Mriehel today.
Compiled by MFSA employee Carlo Farrugia, the dictionary containes 1,600 English financial terms translated into Maltese, with a definition in both languages. The book is published by Midsea Books Ltd.
Mr Farrugia said he was spurred to compile the dictionary after he attended a course in translation and interpreting at the University of Malta and realised there was a void to be filled.
A former Central Bank employee, Mr Farrugia moved to the MFSA in 2002. He has worked in financial services for the past 27 years.
The author said he is compiling other terms for an enlarged version of the 164-page-dictionary which it is hoped, would be made available electronically eventually.
